Dr. Mingjian Cui is a Research Scientist working with Prof. Fangxing “Fran” Li at The University of Tennessee (UTK) since 2020. From 2019 to 2020, he was a Research Assistant Professor working with Prof. Jianhui Wang at Southern Methodist University (SMU). From November 2017 to April 2019, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at SMU. He received the B.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Wuhan University, Wuhan, Hubei, China, all in the electrical engineering and automation, in 2010 and 2015, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), Richardson, TX, USA, from 2016 to 2017, and also a Visiting Scholar from 2014 to 2015 in the Transmission and Grid Integration Group (TGIG) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Golden, CO, USA. His research interests include renewable energy, smart grid, machine learning, data analytics, power system operation, PMU, optimization modeling, electricity market, cybersecurity, and load modeling. He has authored/coauthored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications. He is serving as Editors for journals of IEEE TPWRS since 2021, IET GTD since 2021, and IEEE OAJPE since 2020. He is Best Reviewers of IEEE TSG 2018, IEEE TSTE 2019, and IEEE TSTE 2020. He is also a Senior Member of IEEE.
